  The Five Civilized Tribes Museum was arranged as a tribute to the Cherokee, Chiskasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole Tribes. These particular tribes were moved from their original home in the southeastern United States and relocated to Oklahoma "Indian Territory" after the Louisiana Purchase. Built in 1875, the building housing the Five Civilized Tribes Museum served many purposes throughout the years. The museum was finally established in the 1950's by the Da-Co-Tah Indian Club, a group of approximately 50 Indian women who are dedicated to preserving the history of this building. Explore the history and art of the Five Civilized Tribes. Monday - Saturday, 10-5, Sunday 1-5.

 North American history comes alive at Gilcrease  Museum, home of the world's largest and most  comprehensive collection of art of the American West.  See the rugged Old West reborn in works by Remington,  Russell, Caitlin and Moran. Exhibits range from fine art  to native artifacts and span cultures up through the  20th century. Museum Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 9-5,  Sunday 11-5, Open Mondays during summer months.  Suggested donations: $3 adults, $5 family.

The former home of colorful oilman Waite Phillips, this Italian-style villa is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and houses Italian Renaissance works in oil and sculpture, as well as ancient, classical and Oriental pieces. The nationally renowned Philbrook Museum, which was featured in the television series "America's Castles", offers national touring exhibitions, lecture series, films and special events along with 23-acres of English-style formal gardens. Open Tuesday - Saturday 10-5, Thursday 5-8, Sunday 11-5 $5 adults, $3 students, senior citizens and groups, children under 12 free.


Will Rogers Museum

The 16,652 square foot, eight-gallery museum was built of fossilized limestone quarried nearby. The museum features Will Rogers artifacts and memorabilia, saddle collection, photographs and manuscripts depicting his career as a trick roper, Vaudeville and Ziegfeld follies performer, movie star, radio commentator, syndicated newspaper columnist, author and philosopher. Also features original art, research library and archives and the Rogers family tomb.


Woolaroc Ranch, Museum and Wildlife Preserve

Woolaroc is the 3,600-acre ranch and country home of oilman Frank Phillips, founder of Phillips Petroleum Company. Woolaroc features a world class western art and cultural museum, Phillips' lodge home, family mausoleum, wildlife preserve including buffalo, Native American Cultural Center, North Road Tour, Oil Patch history area and the 1840's Traders Camp. Monday - Sunday 10-5, Summer; Tuesday - Sunday 10-5, Winter. $5 adults, $4 senior citizens, children under 12 free.


Indian Territory Cultural Center and Painted Horse Native Museum

As a Cultural Center, they provide classes in traditional arts, crafts, regalia making, dancing, and singing. The center has a sweat lodge that is always open to any one to participate in with leaders of different lodges or altars, participating also. They also sponsor a youth drum group, and an exhibition dance group.
